Weekly Update : 28 January

As January draws to a close, there are a few updates to bring to your attention.

Following the completion of the Risk Assessment with the Health Protection Team the Primary 5 Class will later today be issued with a Step Down Letter to communicate to each family when their child can return to school/normal activities.

I appreciate that over the past week with increasing news of positive cases that there are many questions about how we respond to this.  As we have been throughout the pandemic, we continue to be guided by the Highland Council and the Health Protection Team.  Any information that we share is directed by them.  I appreciate the frustration that information has not been quicker in coming, however, it is an ever changing situation and as soon as information is sent to us, we will share it with you.

A reminder that the most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of:

  • new continuous cough and/or
  • high temperature
  • a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell

However, people with COVID-19 can present with a wide range of symptoms including headache, sore muscles and joints, tiredness, sore throat, cold-like symptoms and diarrhoea and vomiting.

If anyone in the household develops symptoms, the current national guidance for testing and isolation should be followed.

Half Term Break

The School will close for half term break at 12.45pm on Friday 18th of February and reopen to pupils again on Thursday 24th February .

The Makaton signs that we have been learning this week are today, tomorrow and yesterday.

Head lice

A reminder to parents as well that pupils should be checked regularly at home for head lice.  We are no longer permitted to share when cases arise but just ask that everyone continues to check as a matter of routine.

Thank you,
