    First Shinty

12 teams from the school took part in the recent Skye First Shinty Tournaments for all ages and all did really well.  Portree were the winners of the P7 and under tournament and the P1-3 tournament and were also runners up in the P5 and under tournament.  The school successes at the Skye tournaments allowed Portree’s P7 team and P5 and under team to take part in the National Finals in Fort William on 27 February where again the P7 team fought off the challenge of 13 other qualifying teams from across Scotland, to win the tournament. In a closely fought final, Portree defeated Bute 4-1 to lift the national title for the 4th time in the last 10 years.  The P4/5 team also played really well in their event which was eventually won by Inverlochy Primary School.  Thanks are again extended to all the coaches and parents who supported the pupils at all the tournaments.

Here are some pictures or the recent tournaments and the teams.
