PPS awarded 3rd Eco Green Flag
Portree Primary School were recently awarded their 3rd Eco Green Flag, following an assessment earlier in the year. The assessment highlighted the great work of the Garden Club, the strong relationships across the community to support Eco work, the monitoring of waste and the environmental links across the curriculum used to develop learning.
The picture shows members of the school’s Eco Committee and Donald Gillies the Janitor, displaying their new Green Flag in the garden area at the school.

Brownie Badge Achievement!
Morag Anna Matheson, GM 6, has successfully completed her 56 Brownie Badges over the past three years and has become the first Brownie in Skye (and quite possibly the larger area) to do so. GirlGuiding Scotland have been in touch to say that she is featured on their website this month. Morag Anna has shown determination and effort to achieve these badges and has worked tirelessly and enthusiastically to do so! What a huge achievement Morag Anna! Shinty Success
Portree Primary School were the winners of The K.C.C. Primary Schools 6 a side Tournament that took place at the Dell on Sunday23rd August. The sunny weather and the perfect condition of the Dell meant that the and many teams from far and wide who took part enjoyed a great day’s shinty.
After qualifying undefeated from their group section, Portree then beat strongly fancied Newtonmore 2-1 in the semi-final and Beauly 1-0 in the final. Liam MacQueen who scored many goals during the course of the day, was also named player of the tournament.

Portree Primary Prize Giving will be held in the Community Centre today and will begin at 9.45am sharp!
