  • World Book Day 2017

    Remember World Book Day is on Friday 3rd of March.

    P7 would love it if everyone was able to come in wearing PJ’s, ready for our Big Bedtime Read in the afternoon.  You can  bring in a blanket or pillow to get comfy too!

    Prizes will also be given out for:

    P1-3 – The best drawing of your favourite character

    P4-7 The best imaginative story – (up to 150 words)

    Whole School – Extreme Outdoor Read Photo Competition.

     

    There will also be Quizzes and activities during the day organised by P7.

     

     

  • Portree Primary School Cross Country Championship 2017

    Portree Primary School held their 2017 Cross Country Championships on Tuesday 1st March. Nearly 80 pupils took part and the Girls’ Champion was Emma Gunn and the Boys’ Champion was Ross Macleod.

    Places were as follows:

    Girls  –  1st, Emma Gunn; 2nd, Iona McMath; 3rd MoragAnna Matheson

    Boys – 1st, Ross Macleod, 2nd Myles Jackson; 3rd Angus Gilpin

    The house with the most points was Kiltarraglen

    Well done to everyone who took part!

  • National First Shinty Trophy

    ht-last-teamdsc_0704-3Portree Primary’s School retained the  P7 and under National First Shinty Trophy at the finals which were held in Fort William on Saturday 25th February. Teams from across Scotland who were representing their own areas took part and along with Portree, Dunvegan and Auchtertyre also represented the west coast.  After the two league sections had been completed Portree were placed second in League A which was won by a strong Dingwall team while Inverlochy won League B with Glasgow Gaels runners up.

    In two competitive and hard fought semi-finals, Dingwall beat Glasgow Gaels 2-1 and Portree beat Inverlochy by the same score in what was there best performance of the day. In the final Portree upped their performance even more and in a clean competitive encounter, where both teams played skilful shinty Portree managed to win 3- 0 with the whole team giving of their best.

    Portree captain, William James Sutherland who played strongly all day collected the  National Trophy from Jim Barr President of the Camanachd Association. The picture shows the winning team along with their coach Callie Maclean and Jim Barr and Ronald Ross of the Camanachd Association.

  • More Shinty Success!

    Well done to all who played in the Shinty tournament in Portree on Saturday 14th January.

    P7 and Under came away with a shield and go through to another tournament in Fort William.  They beat Dunvegan in the final 2-1.p7-and-under-finalP1-3 also won their tournament.  They won against North End, Portree A, Portree B and Dunvegan.   They were very pleased with their shield.p1-3

  • Christmas Fayre

    The Christmas Fayre was very successful this year, raising lots of money for our parties, concert and crafts.  You can see some pictures of our preparation and the day itself in the slideshow below.

  • Light Up A Life

    Primary 7 pupils from Portree Primary recently joined other North Primary Schools as part of a choir that performed in the Light Up A Life event, held in aid of Highland Hospice.  The event was a huge success and all those who took part enjoyed a lovely evening to start the festive season!

     

  • Blytheswood Shoebox Appeal

    This year, PPS nursery children co-ordinated Blythswood collection and 46 boxes were collected. Here are some Nursery 3 children delivering boxes to Blythswood Shop and some Nursery 4 children with their boxes.img_0936img_0323
