Dear Parents/Carers,

We hope that you are all settling back into school routine and are looking forward to a more “normal” summer term of in person learning for all of our pupils.

This summer term is usually a very busy one with many extra activities and events taking place.  As with everything else at the moment, many of these are not able to take place due to current restrictions.  A list of known dates is included below. We are expecting an updated position statement from the council next week and there may well be additional activities and events that we are able to add as restrictions ease.

Parents Night

Parents Night for P4-7 will take place on Tuesday 4^th and Wednesday 5^th May.  These appointments will take place virtually and instructions on how to book an appointment were sent out earlier in the week.  Please be in touch if you have any questions about this.

Staffing

Our school Cook, Sonia Brennan has given notice that she will be finishing on 14^th May to go to a new line of work.  While we are delighted for Sonia, she will be hugely missed by all at Portree Primary School.  This post will be advertised over the coming weeks.

Friday Lunches

Each Friday, a considerable amount of time is required to follow up with pupils who are unsure of whether they are home lunches or school lunches.  Pupils who are leaving at 12.45 must have written permission to do so.  As we are not in a position to be able to follow up on all individual queries, where we have not been notified of early dismissal, pupils will stay until 1.15 rather than school staff phoning to check up on this.  Permission for 12.45 dismissal can be sent directly to class teachers or to the school office.  We appreciate your cooperation in this.
