All parents of pupils in Portree Primary school are invited to an Open Afternoon on Wednesday 15^th November at 1.45 pm.

The afternoon will begin with a quick discussion in the gym on Mental Maths and how you can support your child.  Mrs Shona Macdonald and Mrs Marion MacAskill will lead this part of the afternoon and they will give you information about resources which are available to you at home and will demonstrate some activities you can use with your child.  Numeracy is a particular focus on our School Improvement Plan this session as we wish to raise our attainment in this area and support from parents has proven to be a factor in helping children to become more confident and accurate with their number work.

From 2pm onwards you may visit your child’s classroom and see their work.  You will be asked to make comments in the children’s profiles.

There will be parents’ evenings on Tuesday 21^st November and/or Wednesday 22^nd November for parents who wish to have individual appointments.  There will be a sheet in each classroom and you can add your name to this list and select a time that suits you.

Any parent who cannot attend either the Open Afternoon or the Parents’ Evening are invited to contact the school to make an alternative arrangement.

Samples of the new Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh uniform will be available for you to view and we would encourage parents of EM pupils to have a look at these items too, as we will be consulting you all as to whether you may wish to purchase items from this supplier too.

Lost Property will be on display in the afternoon.
